Amanda Gluck

When I first met Amanda Gluck I was inspired by this special woman who fully embodied the meaning of “doing it all”. Amanda, who carries herself with style and grace, is also a smart business woman who runs her own site: I was so excited when we started teaming up to throw a new kind of Beyond Mom event: FHBeyondMom. Our next event (Beauty From the Inside and Out) is coming up June 17th – for ticket details click here! In the meantime enjoy this honest and heartfelt interview with the one and only Amanda Gluck!

What makes you a Beyond Mom?

I am flattered to be considered one by you guys! I guess the fact that I try to balance all of my passions even though it’s crazy busy and exhausting!

What are the parts of you that have grown and expanded since becoming a Mom?

My patience, my efficiency and my focus. Patience with a baby/toddler is key; my daughter 100% responds better in any situation when I am calm. My efficiency because there’s no time to dilly dally online like I used to. And focus whether it’s on a project or even spending time with my daughter. The bottom line is there’s never enough hours in the day, so I need to make the best of what I have!

Can you share a collaboration/success story with another woman; what helped the collaboration become successful?

I am a huge advocate for collaborating with female entrepreneurs on my blog. In my last event with (aha!) FHBeyondMom I worked with Randi, but also included the company Simple & Crisp (founded by a female entrepreneur) as well as Kim Seybert. The girl power was incredible!

What relationships help you stay connected to yourself?

The one with my husband and the one with my mom. My husband encourages me, puts me in my place, and is a shoulder to cry on – no judgement ever. My mom is my role model and top advisor. She had five kids and a business so after having just one baby I realize how truly miraculous she is!

Do you have a ‘Beyond’ dream that you are pursuing? If so, please share…

As the founder, creator, writer, event planner and stylist behind lifestyle blog, I hope to continue to inspire women to be more than what they expect from themselves. Pursue a dream, host a holiday, dress like a knock-out. Oh and one day I wouldn’t mind a line of Fashionable Hostess products at Target.

What wellness activity can you not live without? What is one thing you do daily that balances you?

Fitness and wellness is a huge part of my life. Anytime I am stressed or in a bad mood I know a workout will clear my mind. I love Flybarre and Soul Cycle. One is great toning while the other is great cardio. More importantly though I am forced to turn off my phone and my mind when entering the room for class.

How does style influence the way you stay feeling ‘Beyond’? Who is currently your favorite designer?

Style is a big motivational tool for me. I prefer to workout in the am, shower, apply makeup, and get dressed so then I am ready to conquer the day. My least productive days are those spent in workout clothes! I swear by J Brand Denim, and then I am a die hard hand bag snob. Goyard serves as my gym bag, Valentino is my currently everyday structured bag. I change my purse almost everyday and my diaper bag once a season.

Favorite NYC Spots that Embody The Beyond Mom:

Soul Cycle – a cycling ride with no lights and no judgement, just a team of people around you with the same goal. My Kidville classes – no matter how busy I am I always take my daughter to her favorite class. It’s an hour of pure bliss for the both of us. She runs around so proud to show off, and I sing and dance along (of course knowing every word) equally as thrilled to be watching her every move.

Beyond Cocktails and/or Food:

A bottle of Sancere, good cheese, and olives – always a girls bonding go-to

Beyond Workout:

Flybarre or Soul Cycle

Beyond Shopping: Intermix and Zara
